Hey APW,
Weird times right now. I woke up Wednesday morning and realized that my usually very bright bedroom was still dark. Still half asleep I knew something wasn’t right and then I looked outside. Orange, just orange. (See that pic above? I ran to get a cup of coffee and that’s what the sky looked like at 8am, no filter.) In what has been an already disorienting year, Wednesday felt like a visual and physical reminder of the madness of the past six months coming to a head.
So, I’ve been coping by keeping my hands and mind busy. I picked up embroidery as a hobby through YouTube videos and have been reading a ton. My favorite read in the last month? What My Mother and I Don’t Talk About: Fifteen Writers Break the Silence. I blew through it in no time, it’s so good.
But I think it’s safe to say it’s all just a lot. And we’re trying to take it easy on ourselves around here. So, what’s making your days more enjoyable? Do you have any book recs or embroidery tips? I’m all ears, this is your happy hour after all.
