Hey APW,
One of the best things about running a (mostly) woman staff is that in those moments that we’re not tied to our computers, hammering through our to-do lists, it often feels like being at sleepover. Lots of dress up. No pressure. A fair amount of dishing, advice giving, and helping each other live our best lives (while also talking about clothes… because we talk about clothes a lot).
This year, we’ve been dreaming up ways that we can extend that vibe to the rest of the APW community. Because there is nothing we love more than meeting you guys at events, and telling you YES you should buy that wedding dress, and OMG we’ve totally heard that wedding/newlywed problem before and here is what we think, and damn girl—where did you get those shoes? So I’m delighted to announce that we’re partnering with Rent the Runway in San Francisco in November to hang out with you guys.
Over the past few months our team has personally become huge fans of Rent the Runway (both their product and the team in the SF store). So it seemed like the perfect location to host a super intimate event next month, with the stated goal to help you style yourself (or your BFF or bridesmaid) for whatever is next on your list. But we’re also here to just try on clothes, chat, and drink mimosas.
We’re calling it Primpin’ Ain’t Easy (because it ain’t). We’re inviting up to thirty APW readers to come hang out with us and get personalized, one-on-one styling (and wedding, and newlywed) advice from the APW team and the Rent the Runway staff for outfitting your wedding party or just your fine self. (Because also? The new unlimited plan from Rent the Runway is so good for all your bachelorette party, bridal shower, and rehearsal dinner needs. So good that between the humans in our office we have… three memberships. Seriously.) Here are the details:
When: Saturday, November 4th. 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Where: Rent the Runway San Francisco (it’s inside Neiman Marcus)
The Fine Print: The event is FREE and absolutely no purchase is required (we’ll tell you when something is super cute, but there will be legit no sales pressure at all). You can officially RSVP here on Monday, October 23rd at 12:00 Noon PDT (3:00 p.m. EDT). Set the alarm on your phone, or watch this space for a reminder, because attendance is maxed out at thirty, and we expect those tickets to go lightning fast. You can RSVP for just your awesome self, or bring a friend.
