A thousand years ago (okay, 2009) when I was getting married, I spent an enormous amount of time—some of it well documented on the Internet—raging with frustration and confusion over the fact that I couldn’t find any actually stylish wedding dresses… let alone affordable wedding dresses. If I’d wanted a strapless cupcake dress for a small fortune, I would have had all the options. But that’s never been my jam. Hip wedding dresses at a range of price points? This was clearly a business model that needed to be willed into existence. And then as if by magic, BHLDN burst on the scene, and the APW editorial team has been in love ever since.

So when BHLDN approached us to ask if we’d like to publish an exclusive look at their new spring lookbook, we were delighted. And this year’s BHLDN spring collection (no surprise) slays, and runs the gamut from hottttt to stunningly traditional. (And as always, check out BHLDN’s reception dress section, which always includes some of our team’s favorite, and most affordable, looks.)

Spring 2016 has florals:

How soon is too soon for a vow renewal? With every collection I have a stronger yearning to go twirl in the BHLDN dressing room. (My experiences in the Chicago salon were delightful, by the way.)

My biggest worry was that something better would come out after I bought! Also +1 to the Chicago salon. Least pushy salesperson ever.

    • I’ve been stalking BHLDN since long before I was engaged and I love all of their stuff. When I got engaged this fall I thought about ordering a few dresses to try on at home, but decided to drive from Cleveland to the BHLDN Chicago store instead, knowing that I would likely buy my dress from them. Everything was even more pretty in person. It was such a wonderful, relaxing experience and totally worth the drive. They even paired me with a staff person who is a Cleveland-to-Chicago transplant – she was so lovely to work with. We returned the next day for my mom and sister to try on dresses. There was an issue with my dress delivery, but their customer service was excellent in resolving it. I can’t say enough good things about them.

Where were these gowns when I got married (five years ago)? I could have save so much money!!!

DUDE I KNOW. Now that all the dresses are live, I was just clicking through and yelling about it a little bitterly. The first dress I would have KILLED for, and I legit could not find it for less than $5K when I got married. Five. Thousand. American. Dollars. Hence, I did not have it. Sigh. Also how is the third dress $490?? I literally checked to see if we’d left off a zero.

Love love love BHLDN dresses! I don’t live near a store, so I ordered a couple options online (in more than one size, because free return shipping!) and fell in love with a short, lace dress that was under my $500 budget. It is BEAUTIFUL and intricate and exactly my style. I’m slightly nervous that some people won’t think it is “bridal” enough since it is short and has straps and is exactly the opposite of all the long, strapless dresses everyone else I know wore… But I love it, my mom loves it, and hopefully my fiance will love it. So who cares about the rest!

you’ll be a bride at your wedding … whatever you choose to wear will be exactly the definition of “bridal”!

        Thank you! :)

  • I just got my bridal skirt from BHLDN! I’m in love with it.

One day I will buy myself one of the reception dresses (hello Coppélia!) just to wear whenever the heck I feel like it. Putting it in the mental budget. BHLDN makes me wish I were wearing a white wedding dress sometimes, because they have at least 5 I would kill to wear. Agh! So pretty!! That Bianca Top and Ahsan skirt?! Dreams.

Loooooove BHLDN. Back when I was engaged, they had an amazing lace mini that I really really wanted but my then-fiance said he preferred a long dress. He almost never states preferences, so I went with that. But I still dream of that 60s chic mini.

    Look at all the pretties!!!

Don’t mind me – just going to spend the next two hours redoing my entire future wedding Pinterest board so I can design it around the Ireland gown.

    • Maddie Eisenhart

      It’s SO good, right?

  • NotMarried!

After clicking over to the reception dresses … the McKenna Day Dress is stunning!

  • Love IT! This dresses are stunning especially the last one

i love BHLDN’s dresses and obsessively browsed while i was searching for my wedding dress (and still do, just for fun), but i swore of urban outfitters’ brands a while ago after their umpteenth “oops, sorry we were racist/made fun of addiction!” gaffe. i wish anthro and BHLDN would just somehow become their own independent company because their stuff is so beautiful!

THERE ARE PANTS!! Seriously. I die. So amazing.
