Other cool stuff we should know about: Before we were engaged, Sebastian and I knew that we’d be getting married in Austin. While neither of us live there, it was the perfect central location for both of our families. It just so happens to also be one of our favorite cities!
We had a good bit of time (eleven months) and not a lot of money, so a lot of things were DIY. Luckily we had family and friends to help us out throughout the way. A few of the bridesmaids helped put together the centerpieces the day before the wedding, Ashley’s cousin agreed to MC the wedding since we DJ’d the wedding ourselves, and our families helped with the entire set up and tear down process. We couldn’t have done it without any of them!
Because there wouldn’t be a father-daughter dance, I decided to do a family dance instead. It started with me dancing with my mom, followed by my brother, uncles, a cousin and my grandmother. It was such a special experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything.
Our main goals were to have a wedding that represented who we are and for everyone to have a great time, and thankfully we believe we pulled them both off!
