Other cool stuff we should know about: Before we were engaged, Sebastian and I knew that we’d be getting married in Austin. While neither of us live there, it was the perfect central location for both of our families. It just so happens to also be one of our favorite cities!

We had a good bit of time (eleven months) and not a lot of money, so a lot of things were DIY. Luckily we had family and friends to help us out throughout the way. A few of the bridesmaids helped put together the centerpieces the day before the wedding, Ashley’s cousin agreed to MC the wedding since we DJ’d the wedding ourselves, and our families helped with the entire set up and tear down process. We couldn’t have done it without any of them!

Because there wouldn’t be a father-daughter dance, I decided to do a family dance instead. It started with me dancing with my mom, followed by my brother, uncles, a cousin and my grandmother. It was such a special experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Our main goals were to have a wedding that represented who we are and for everyone to have a great time, and thankfully we believe we pulled them both off!

Favorite thing about the wedding: Sebastian: Seeing Ashley in her wedding dress.

Ashley: getting to dance and celebrate with our close friends and family

  • Um, hello, pies instead of cakes, dance party, and Elissa (also my photograher/victim of my perpetual internet stalking)?! I LOVE THIS WEDDING!!!

Also, taco truck. Yes. Every wedding in Texas needs a taco truck.

  • Hooray! Ashley and Sebastian’s wedding was awesome. So heartfelt and warm and happy. And it was December and for some reason 80 degrees, so the outdoors felt mildly warm and awesome? which is uncharacteristic of Texas :)

Also, I got to dance with Sebastian during a Backstreet Boys song, so.. this wedding lives in my heart.

  • So beautiful and warm and sweet! And I love the idea of a family dance. Looks like an amazing day!

  • How freaking fantastic! These photos are gorgeous. So much happiness. Congratulations!! :)

I had so much fun watching my brother from another mother get married! Such a beautiful ceremony and such wonderful company. And so glad we had the opportunity to introduce Isabel. My favorite part of what you two put together (other than the guests) was the music. Love you guys.

That pie is making me drool. Think I need to consider baking tonight.

Absolutely gorgeous wedding, and the happiness just exudes from the pictures! And Your Hand in Mine is a FANTASTIC background for browsing through the photos. I have to ask, though – what type of dress is that? It’s absolutely stunning!

    • Ashley

Aw, thanks! My dress is by Maggie Sottero – it’s called Karena Royale.

      • Becky

        Thank you!!!

I was scrolling through admiring your photos and had that moment – wait, wait a minute, THAT DRESS IS ALSO MY DRESS. I’m three months out and experiencing mild dress anxiety so I wanted to thank you: you looked so gorgeous it renewed my confidence in my own dress.

        • Ashley

You are too sweet – thank you! I’m sure the dress is going to look equally gorgeous on you!
