Q:Dear APW,
Two of my close friends had to postpone their 2020 wedding by a year. I would love to do something for them to commemorate the original day of their wedding. They are located a few states away from me and we’re all sheltering in place anyway, so everything will have to be done by mail, phone, or online.
I’ve considered asking our friend group to send them cute notes and shipping a bottle of nice wine (have to check the state regulations to see if that’s legal) but do you have any other bright ideas for how we can make this day special for them?
Any suggestions for what we could say in the cards to cheer them up—or anything we should avoid? I’d love to send them a care package, but I’m also sensitive to the moral thorniness of purchasing things online, and forcing the risk of disease onto others. So, are there any DIY items I could make at home and send to them? Looking at you, origami disco ball!
APW and its readers are a creative bunch. What’ve you got?! I’m all ears.
How are you celebrating the folx in your life that have had to postpone or cancel their wedding due to COVID-19 (DIY or Not)? Have any amazing DIYs up your sleeve? Let us know in the comments!
