Etsy has a range of hair accessories in a broader price range, too. Helps to look there for cute/vintage/unusual/cheap stuff.

  • Love this picture! I would love to see peoples attempts at this style but honestly this complete look isn’t so easy to do on yourself. But using those clips to set the hair and adding a fancy accessory is a great way to ‘fake’ it. Grace has a lot of hair and the whole setting and styling process for this style was almost two hours. One of my favorite styles I did all of last year!

Good point, and I just added a note to the post echoing it. Ours is definitely the cheaters way!

      • Um. What is yours? I don’t get it.

The post has a link to our tutorial, which is right here:

I have to admit, I first I scrolled up and down a few times, but then I got it. there’s a link to the original post. This post is about a girl who used the APW tutorial for the look. SO pretty!

        • Karen- To clarify, this brides look was done by a experienced pro (me, wink wink). But that doesn’t mean “don’t try this at home”, why not? There is a link below the image to the tutorial on how to ‘fake it’. It can be done!

Yes, I think a few practice sessions with a trusted friend/family member who will be present on your wedding date would be totally doable.

“All the 1930’s style without, you know, the Great Depression” might be my favorite subheading of all time.

    (Also, love this tutorial!)

My grandmother had this style in the thirties and it was adorable on her. No clue how she did it.

Love this hair… I’m planning glammy, Veronica Lake hair for our wedding in 5 1/2 weeks!

A gorgeous bridal hairdo. Thanks for sharing the tutorial. That crystal hair pin has added the required amount to shimmer and shine to the complete look.
