Other Cool Stuff We Should Know About

We really wanted to bring a New Orleans flair to the event since we call New Orleans home. We had a great time planning with the William and Mary (Dan’s an alumnus) Bel Canto Brass Quintet on the second line parade. Christa made the handkerchiefs for the guests and everyone had a fun time dancing and parading!

The reception was a blast from the New Orleans influenced menu (Gumbo, vegetarian red beans and rice, gulf shrimp étouffée, fried catfish, crawfish and andouille cheesecake, and blue cheese beignets!!), to the surprise first dance—which was a swing dance number to Ray Charles’ “Hallelujah, I Love Her So”! We also cannot forget the homemade wedding cake made by Christa and the groom’s cake from Debbie Does Doberge in New Orleans! (Dan also made the spiced pecan wedding favors!) Also, the incredible fun send off in which Christa changed into a vintage dress she found the week before and we exited straight to Dan’s old college bar (the Green Leafe) to continue the party!

Favorite Thing About The Wedding

Dan: Having friends and family from all different parts of life gathered together.

Christa: I agree with Dan, plus the last dance to “Buona Sera” surrounded by our friends and family was pretty awesome!
