Is It Better to Rent or Buy Place Settings for a Secluded Wedding?

How do we clean up if there's no running water?

Place Settings

Q:

Hello APW,

I have a bit of a dilemma about two and a half months from my wedding. I still don’t know what I am serving my guests dinner on. You see, I am having a DIY wedding at a flower preserve and although they have electric hookups at the venue, there is no running water. So I can’t wash or rinse plates, which I suppose takes renting plates out of the equation. So a question for you: what should I serve dinner on? Should I choose a more natural bamboo or palm leaf setting, a china-like plastic setting, or can I figure out some creative way to rinse rentals so I don’t get killed with washing fees? My wedding is more vintagey than rustic, with lace and lots of gold and flowers.

Thanks!
Julia
