Other Cool Stuff We Should Know About
All the details of the wedding party outfits—jewelry, shawls, veil, tie clips, ties, as well as the decorations: bunting, vases, glassware, wedding wands, etc.—were purchased from West Coast Etsy vendors! We tried to keep it as local as possible while supporting craftspeople and artists. In lieu of a traditional cake we asked several of our foodie friends to prepare dessert for a dessert table—it was so special and beautiful! We also had mini-cupcakes from Bi-Rite catering. Bi-Rite also made the appetizers and finger foods that were served. We spent under $9,000 on the entire event (and after party). I know this is still a lot of money, but achieving this in San Francisco is quite a feat and I was proud of that!
We also had several friends who made custom garden games (croquet, ladderball, and cornhole) which people had a blast playing and we can keep forever. After the ceremony and reception we escaped in the VW to Ocean Beach to have a private ceremony during the sunset of the Summer Solstice—so magical!
We ended the night at an after-party our friends threw us in a loft in the Haight District—DJ and dancing and smiling till dawn!
Favorite Thing About The Wedding
How all of our family and friends helped to make/create/contribute something to make our day intimate, unique and ever-so-slightly quirky—like us! Dancing under the trees, out in our favorite area of Golden Gate Park with all our beloved ones was pure magic. And, of course, celebrating the Solstice at Ocean Beach, just the two of us was a true ceremony of love.
