Other Cool Stuff We Should Know About

Our Vegas elopement, the date we were officially married, was on 9/11. We had a big backyard wedding, with friends and family, on June 15, 2013, in San Francisco, but we never signed the papers. Months later, we decided to elope in Vegas and make it official. Naturally, being wedding photographers, we brought our cameras and photographed the day ourselves.

Favorite Thing About the Wedding

It was just the two of us, pure fun, and going to see Absinthe in the Spiegel tent out front of Caesars Palace was the best. We were sitting first row with glasses of champagne and cameras in hand.

What a perfect mix of beauty and silliness. Looking at these photos gives me a sense of this lovely couples’ personalities and I LOVE that they did a drive-thru wedding! And it’s adorable!
    Three cheers for you two!

I love that this wedding echos the theme of the month. It reminds me of Moulin Rouge and Big Fish in a good way. There’s a kind of drama and mystery to it. Beautiful and so so fun!

I really, REALLY love these guys.

Can you talk a little bit about how you shot this yourselves? Did you bring a tripod/set things on a timer? Ask passersby for help? How long did it take to get the shots when you weren’t behind the camera (because you were both in front of it)?

I love this wedding by the way and eloping to Vegas is sounding more and more awesome with each photo I saw.

    • Hey Cleo, great question. We mostly just wanted to have a lot of fun so we packed super light. Mostly just passed the camera back and forth between each other. We used a timer for the shots with both of us and since we did not have a tripod so we used the roof of the limo, the sign and the chapel etc..

It looked to be a fun, low key wedding and the pictures are really stunning. I also love the groom’s choice of mustard pinstripe pants!

  • Manya

Wasn’t Absinthe an AMAZING show? Brian and I just got remarried in Las Vegas and this brought it all back. Love the photos, but I wanted to see that cute dress!
