No better place than Vegas to tell your spouse that you’re still “all in”

Other Cool Stuff We Should Know About

We were married in Mexico in 2005. Almost ten years later, it’s amazing to reflect on our journey: the birth of our two sons, the purchase of our first home, and beautiful travel adventures. We’ve supported each other through career changes, the loss of family members and friends, and countless other challenging times. Scott donated a kidney to his mom almost two years ago, which was a journey in and of itself. It was an emotional time, but Scott was amazing and the transplant was a success! Not everyone gets the opportunity to prove unconditional love in that manner.

As we headed toward our tenth wedding anniversary, we decided to renew our vows. We can’t predict the next ten years any more than we could predict the last ten, but we remain committed and in love. There’s no better place than Vegas to tell your spouse that you’re still “all in.”

We chose a wraparound terrace suite at the Cosmopolitan because we loved that we could have a private ceremony along with amazing views of the strip. While the vows we made on our wedding day still hold true and will never expire, it was very special to take this time to reflect on our promises and reaffirm our commitment to each other with the wisdom and experience that marriage have given us. It was a perfectly romantic night.

Favorite Thing About The Wedding

Sharing vows that we wrote for each other and blessing our wedding rings. It felt so personal and heartfelt.

love this! you guys look sharp as hell and the sentiment behind it is so inspiring to me as an almost-married. I can’t wait to have that kind of history behind us and decades left to go with that still strong sense of “all in”.

Yes! Very inspiring for me too as a newlywed! This is why I find vow renewals even more emotionally charged than the first wedding… After 10, 20, 30 years of going through the trials and milestones together it’s amazing to be able to publicly and formally declare, “Yeah, let’s re-up on this shit!”

I have to second the “sharp as hell”… every new picture as I scrolled I just kept thinking how glamorous and classy and attractive they both are!

  • vegankitchendiaries

GOOD ON THESE TWO! Classiest act in Vegas!

  • This is all the things. So much love. So much hotness. Your dress…I can’t even.

    • Rhie

I KNOW. The dress. I am in love with the dress!! Also the idea of blessing your wedding rings, that’s a really lovely idea that I’m definitely filing away for later.

Check out ring warming ceremonies. We did it in our original wedding. We passed around our rings while we played Train’s “Marry Me” and asked people to warm hold our rings for a moment and “warm them” with a blessing, prayer or wish for our marriage. People really got emotional and it makes our rings feel that much more special.

This is so beautiful from the clothes to the looks you are giving each other to the sentiment behind it all and that John Legend song. Thank you for sharing this moment with all of us. I wish you lots of love and happiness for the next 10 years!

That John Legend song was my first dance!!! I love it so much. And those chandeliers in the Cosmo are my favorite part of Vegas :) Such a gorgeous picture.

Your dress is AMAZING. You both look so happy, which is clearly the important thing, but you both also look hot, which is probably not as important but still really nice to make happen. Congratulations on building such a lovely sounding life together, and best wishes for the next ten years!

  • Angela

  • Bea

    that dress.

I love this so much! We did the same thing–vow renewal in Vegas. It was so much fun and special. You guys have the look of two people really TOGETHER. There’s some invisible gossamer filament casting a net around you. And… THAT DRESS. Oh my. I LOVE IT. You look stunning and “all in.” Funny that this one brought tears to my eyes. Probably because I can relate to y’all.
