The Best Wedding Songs 2017: Let’s Get This Party Started

Bey, you can stay

Wedding music is funny in that there are some songs that rule the wedding charts for a year or so before disappearing and others that go on to be forever-classics. So at the beginning of each year, we sit down and ask ourselves, “What will be the best wedding songs 2017?” Last year we topped our list with “Uptown Funk,” and when every wedding I went to lead with that song, I felt like I had nobody to blame by myself. This year, I have on good authority that Christina Perry’s “A Thousand Years” will be again burning up the wedding music charts. While I’ll be fine with that wedding song falling into obscurity… at some point… soon? (it’s been five years so far), I think we can all agree that Queen Bey’s recent work can stay forever.

So whether you’re looking for slow jams, singer-songwriters, or something downright funky, this list of twenty-five wedding songs 2017 has got you. AND BONUS: In case you’re still grooving to the tunes of recent past, we’ve included fifteen songs from previous years, too.

Just watched the Breathing Underwater video, and I’m definitely not crying. Nope, not at all.

Whenever I hear John Legend’s “All of Me” all I can think about is how this was the only slow song we played at our wedding (forgot to hit shuffle on the playlist, all the slow songs were at the end). Three people told us they planned to wait for the next slow song to dance to it when it came on. Joke was on them!

That song always reminds me of my cousin’s wedding, where a friend with some hella pipes sang it as a tribute to them. They had a DJ, who also played a single slow song towards the beginning of the night, which we didn’t dance to, thinking we’d hit the next one…and then there was no next one.

APW, would love it if y’all would make public Spotify playlists with these!

  • Nice selection. However, there is nothing much new…. most of those music were already very used in 2016. So what will be the real 2017 new hit ?

Love the song suggestions! We’ve definitely had a few of our brides play these songs at their receptions. :)
