APW Happy Hour

Eat, play, love

model standing in rice paddies

Hey APW,

Najva here, reporting from Ubud, Bali! I landed about two days ago (after spending the last week of Korea super duper sick), and so far I’ve done yoga in the prettiest studio of my life, had a mulberry smoothie (my second favorite fruit, next to persimmons), jumped in an infinity pool for the first time, watched traditional Indonesian dance, and visited the rice paddies that Eat, Pray, Love made famous. To be honest, my memory of the story is pretty foggy, but I do know that Julia Roberts starring in the movie really set off tourism in Ubud—which seems to be both a blessing and a curse.

That being said, the rice paddies are a sight worth seeing, but also hot, sweaty, muddy, and full of tourists. However, in the middle of all the sensible walking outfits (mine included), I stumbled on a full on fashion editorial being shot! I couldn’t help but grab a picture of the model (and that DRESS) right before I had to duck into the nearest cafe to hydrate with a fresh coconut (and then head back to my computer).

The “trouble” with working remotely is you show up in a killer locale but only have a few hours a day to explore, but Saturday is my first full free day! So, now I have to decide which sounds more appealing: Waterfall? Spa day? Or visit a temple on a lake? How do you even pick between all this awesome?

And now it’s your turn to tell me about your awesome, APW. It’s your happy hour!

Cheers,
Najva
