Hey APW,
Guess what? For those of us on the APW team, this week marks the first time we’ve seen the sun and blue skies in quite some time. We’ve had breathable air for a few days and nothing could feel more lovely, honestly. We are acutely aware that much of the West Coast and California is not yet in the clear, and that the smoke and darkness could come back here at any moment. I looked back at my texts on Wednesday (our first good air day), and realized that we had been in darkness and smoke and ash for 29 days. It’s been a long 29 days, and I for one will be eating all my meals outside, and walking the dog twice a day, until further notice. I hope that all of you find yourself in similarly bright surroundings. But, if you’re in parts of the world that are still currently burning and smokey, please know my thoughts are with you and I’m sending hopeful thoughts of blue skies.
Today also marks the first day of Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year). Meg is out, spending the day with her family and preparing for this start of the Jewish High Holidays. Wishing all of you who are also celebrating, a lovely and joyous celebration. L’Shanah Tovah.
