Christina Richards is an APW favorite for good reason

Christina Richards is a little like a photographer fairy tale: yes, there is a woman who shoots in San Francisco, Boston, and New York; who is a calm, consummate professional; and whose work is… incredible. We’re talking sunset-on-point, magical-sprites-in-the-forest, yes-I-want-to-hire-her-for-everything incredible.

In fact, APW has hired her for everything from personal family shoots to editorials for our brand partners. Christina is a downright joy to work with, and our go-to girl for consistent artistry and flawless execution. And with rates beginning at $4,000 in SF, Boston, and NYC, she might just be yours too.groom and bride with lace shawl neckline dancingbride signing ketubahbride holding yellow and orange bouquetWe’ve known Christina Richards since 2009(!), and in those seven years APW has seen plenty of trends, filters, and photographers blow up and burn out, all while Christina’s work just quietly keeps getting better and better. Prior to shooting weddings, Christina studied photography at SCAD, and spent years working for fine art, commercial, and editorial photographers, as well as creating her own fine art work. That extensive background in photography has led her to follow her own instincts as an artist, instead of messing around with what’s hot in wedding photography right now. And just look at the photos—she doesn’t need to. We’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Christina’s strong, consistent point of view just may be the closest thing to timeless you’re going to find in wedding photography.

I’m fascinated by life’s fleeting, honest, and spontaneous moments. With my photography I work to distill these qualities into photographs that are beautiful and full of life. I hope to give my clients a collection of images that are true to the spirit of the day and capture the unexpected moments in between.

Let me assure you that Christina delivers on exactly that, and it’s why she has been a favorite of the APW community for all these years. That, and being a no-drama, delightful person to work with. You’d think photos this good would be accompanied by the ego of an “artiste,” but nope. Christina is as full of warmth, humor, happiness, and joy as they come.

Bonus: She’s real good at making you look real good. (Why do you think we keep hiring her ourselves?) Seriously, though, this woman can get a flattering shot every damn time.bride tearing up during ceremonyman eating cakebride running through forestChristina Richards Photography‘s wedding coverage ranges from $4,000 to $6,000, and every package gets you full-day coverage, so Christina will be there to capture every moment. Eloping on a Monday or making a date at city hall?
