Are You Coming To Our Party in SF on Sunday?

All of our best ideas (including a free aura photographer!) and it's FREE for you

AdvertisementEarlier this year, Meg and I were sitting in the office, talking about how to re-energize ourselves around work. As sexy as it might seem to make a living on the internet, we do spend most of our time behind a computer doing everyday stuff like answering emails and sifting through folders to find that thing we forgot to bookmark three weeks ago and suddenly need to find again. So we decided to launch our summer camp event, The Compact, and then almost instantly it was like the sky opened up and decided to rain opportunities to get out from behind our desks and do cool stuff we only dreamed about before.

This Is What It Was Actually Like Registering As A Radical Queer Couple

The Sky is the Limit

As you may know, we’ve been partnering with Crate and Barrel for several years to help you guys make the most of your registries (and every year they’ve also helped us celebrate Pride), and next month we’re partnering with them to throw a Private Registry Event in San Francisco. And y’all, I can’t really put into words how excited I am about this. When Crate and Barrel approached us, they asked us to put together an event made up of whatever we thought would be the coolest, most fun experience for our audience. Basically, build your dream registry event. Now, normally when you plan an event (as I’m sure any of you in the weeds of wedding planning right now will know) there are a thousand contingencies and compromises. So I made them get on the phone with me three times before I sent any ideas over, because I just kept waiting for the catch. Except, there isn’t one. We simply get to throw our fever dream of a registry event, and you’re invited! Their event planner told me that it’s just because they believe in what APW does and what you all stand for. So here are the details:

The Nitty-Gritty: Our Private Registry Event is THIS Sunday, July 15th from 9 to 11 a.m., at Crate and Barrel’s Union Square location in San Francisco (aka 55 Stockton Street).

The Exciting Stuff: Aura photography! Fancy cotton candy! Bougie food and drink! We took every wild idea we’ve ever had and threw it at this event. But more than that, this event is also about turning the idea of registering on its head a little bit. So much of the language around registering is about what you “must have.” Which is kind of a boring way to build a home. What about what you want to have? Or what excites you? Or what you’d love to look at as you pass through your hallway each day? So this party is really about letting your hair down, having a good time, and getting inspired. Because when life provides you with an opportunity to level up your life and a virtual scan gun by way of the Crate and Barrel registry app, you should give yourself permission to have a little fun. So we’re digging deep into the woo woo and focusing on an event that’s all about, well, you. We’ll have an aura photographer on hand, capturing the color of your energy field (mine is definitely purple) plus dry ice mocktails (it’s 9 a.m. after all) matched to your aura. We’ll have delicious food from our faves at Fogcutter SF and fancy cotton candy spun on site. And of course, friendly guidance from the APW team. In short, if we weren’t throwing this party, we’d be attending it.

How to Snag a Spot: Space is limited at these events, so you’ll want to RSVP right here.
