sum-up of the wedding vibe: EPIC Pink Elvis Dreamland wedding at the “Welcome To Las Vegas” sign.
Planned Budget: $2,000
Actual Budget: $2,000
Number of Guests: 3
Location: Las Vegas Welcome Sign | Las Vegas, Nevada
Where we allocated the most funds:
Photography and hotel!
Where we allocated the least funds:
Dress and cake.
What was totally worth it:
Everything. And to not have any drama—and make the whole day about our love and who we are—was the best day. We had my eighty-six-year-old grandmother named Nana as our witness; it was priceless.
It was everything we wanted and more: a pink carousel Elvis dreamland wedding!
What was totally not worth it:
Nothing. It all was worth it!
A few things that helped us along the way:
Talking to people who eloped and getting the best photography on the planet made everything perfect. Relaxing into it. Not stressing too much, and making sure everything was booked, which took a bit of research! Also, knowing someone from Vegas helped.
My best practical advice for my planning self:
Do what makes YOU happy. Don’t think of pleasing everyone else! In the end, do what makes you happy because you can’t please everyone, so screw the haters!
Favorite thing about the wedding:
My favorite things about our wedding were standing underneath the Vegas sign with my husband, Elvis singing in between vows, and laughing with joy at Steve and staring past him at the line of tourists cheering us on. Honestly, only positive vibes. And course my Nana being there.
Something else I’d like to share:
Eloping in Vegas included what people are looking for in weddings and still being able to show who they are and be everything they want. We don’t live in the 1950s where we don’t have a KitchenAid yet. Screw that. I’m a modern womxn with a business and can buy my own damn crockpot.
