Rose Gold Events Will Help You Keep Your Sh*t Together

Bay Area wedding planner and coordinator, specializing in serious organizational skills

10

When I was shooting weddings in the Bay Area, I would jump for joy whenever I heard that Alyssa Griffith would be coordinating (she was working with longtime sponsor Lowe House Events at the time). Alyssa quickly became one of my favorite people to work with. (Girlfriend is organized, while still managing to be laid-back. A rare combination if ever there was one.) And over time, she’s become a staple of our sane planner community, contributing her wisdom whenever we ask for it. After knowing Alyssa personally for the past three years, I’m beyond thrilled to announce that, with some nudging from the APW staff, she has launched her very own planning and coordinating business, Rose Gold Events, serving the Bay Area all the way up to the Pacific Northwest.

There are a lot of different paths to becoming a wedding coordinator. But Alyssa is one of the few I’ve met who is actually certified to be a wedding planner (as in, she’s got formal education in the art of keeping your wedding sane). While her business is new, she has over four years of experience under her belt (which is like dog years in the wedding industry), and she’s worked on as many APW weddings as any other planner around here. She explains:

I didn’t just stumble into this career. I’ve been working in the wedding and event industry for over four years. During that time, I have done a multitude of jobs: I’ve interned/assisted a high end planner, I’ve been a rental specialist, a lead wedding planner/coordinator, and even research assistant to Meg on her new book! I have worked on all kinds of weddings: park picnics, city hall weddings, hugely expensive weddings, and everything in between.

But don’t get confused. Alyssa is not a wedding designer who dabbles in coordinating on the side. She’s serious about keeping your wedding sane, and carrying out your vision. She says:

My approach to your wedding is your approach to your wedding. By that I just mean that I want what you want, and I want you to be happy. Do you want purple linens and woodsy natural accents? I can help you find them and pick the right ones. Do you dream of big balloons and twinkle lights? You bet I know how to make that happen! Do you have no idea what you want? That’s okay too—I can help you figure that out and make it cohesive. Once you’ve chosen what you want, I can help you find it, and I’ll be sure it gets where it needs to be and looks nice. You just worry about marrying that lovely individual you get to spend your life with!

I am not a designer or a stylist—though I like to think I have good taste. My real strength is the planning and the logistics… but I also like pretty and I can help you make pretty happen. I can also help you make useful, fun, meaningful, whimsical, colorful, sparkly, glitzy, natural, and lovely happen too. Let’s do this together!

Alyssa believes that no one should ever pay for services they don’t need, so she creates custom packages and options for each couple she works with. Full coordinating for the average wedding with Rose Gold Events starts at 00, which includes:

  • A consultation meeting.
  • Access to Alyssa’s kickass vendor list.
  • Unlimited email correspondence with the Rose Gold team, and phone calls by appointment.
  • A final check-in meeting/site visit.
  • Help with your day-of wedding timeline.
  • Vendor confirmations (those annoying emails/phone calls to make sure everyone knows where to show up and when).
  • Ceremony rehearsal coordination.
  • Unlimited on-site coordination on your wedding/event day! (They don’t limit the hours—they’re there for you the whole day.)

Rose Gold Events also offers options for small weddings and elopements, plus partial and full planning options if you just want to have Alyssa do most of the work for you.

Everything you need to know about working with Alyssa of Rose Gold Events can be summed up in the photo below (from one of her many glowing Yelp reviews and testimonials, this client captioned the photo “Alyssa saving an overwhelmed and nervous bride (me) at the rehearsal dinner”).

So if you’re in the process of planning your Bay Area wedding, and you’re looking for a coordinator who will be your ally during the planning process, but won’t steamroll you into doing the kind of wedding she thinks is best, then Rose Gold Events is for you. Alyssa is trained, experienced, and she gets APW weddings in a way that few people do. All I’m saying is—there’s a reason Alyssa is a regular around these parts, and her calendar isn’t going to be open for long. Your move.
