Summer wedding guest dresses have been a hot topic in my group chat lately. In the past year it seems like majority of the folks in the chat have found themselves newly engaged (yay for love!) or invited to a bunch of weddings (some of those being postponed pandemic weddings) later this year. And with those weddings come a whole group of wedding guests that can’t wait to celebrate love and look and feel their best while doing it.
So, that brought up our next question in the discussion. What are our summer wedding guest dress requirements (for ourselves)? For us, a few things were key. First up, comfort. After over two years of living in our comfy clothes, the last thing any of us wanted to do was spend more than 5 minutes in an uncomfortable strapless bra or any other type of undergarment that needs constant adjusting. Second, movement. We don’t want to be restricted by our attire, we want to be able to move in it (especially now that we can hit the dance floor again!) And last, we’d love to wear our wedding guest attire more than once and not have it collect dust in the closet. (Pro tip: if you’re looking for another way to avoid the dust collecting problem, give a clothing rental service like Rent the Runway or Nuuly a try.)
While things have changed quite a bit from previous wedding seasons, there are some things within the fashion realm that are still totally in style. Bold floral prints, chic monochromatic ‘fits, and stunning two-piece outfits are still calling our names. Plus, the thought of shedding off our work from home attire and getting dressed up again is getting us all excited. And we can’t be the only ones. So, let’s do this thing!
